About A Motivational & Inspirational Book: Is This The Book For You, Or A Loved One?
Believe it or not, at the point I was working on the subtitle for my motivational and inspirational book, “The Nurse in the Delivery Room Slapped Me… Once”, my perception was I needed to keep the subtitle as short as possible. Even more important to me however was that I provide the prospective reader with some sense of the potential impact that could come from this book with the unusual name. After working my way through a number of iterations (a little more about that in a later post) I eventually settled in on “Stories and Perspective to Help Unlock Your Amazing Potential”. However, something still didn’t seem right. It didn’t take me long to realize what it was. I quickly made the correction and sent the final text off to the publisher – “Stories and Perspectives to Help You Unlock Your Amazing Potential”. I know… what was I thinking? I had made the long subtitle for the book with the long title even longer. However, for good reason…
This motivational and inspirational book isn’t about the kind of hype we are far too often bombarded with – and it’s not the place to find false promises about how instantly more successful, wealthy and popular you can magically expect to be. You shouldn’t expect any ‘whoo-hoo’ moments (more about that in a later post) or the allure of some ancient and, until now, closely held set of absolutes which is ‘the secret’ to an unconditionally plentiful life. No… Compared to those approaches, I would say that the effective philosophical ideas and perspectives espoused in this uniquely uplifting, motivating and inspiring book are more closely aligned with the considerably simpler, very much more relevant and to the point, offering on a birthday card I purchased some time back. On the front of the card is a man stating that he had consulted with a very wise man and was prepared to share the answer to the age-old question of how to most effectively accomplish the much sought feat of living a long life. On the inside of the card – Keep breathing for as long as you possibly can.
As a result, getting back to the modified subtitle, the original subtitle was missing the most critical ingredient - You. You see, for as much potential growth, opportunity, direction, promise and purpose I believe the book can ultimately help to foster in your life, as well as the lives of friends and loved ones – the bottom line is, without you… without your willingness to commit… to challenge and begin to replace ever comfortable, long-held perceptions, paradigms and thoughts that limit your forward progress (instead serving to only hold you back)… to implement the kind of new uplifting, forward-leaning, motivated, inspired and aspiring mindset that will begin to fundamentally forever change your perspective, and thus the scope of your very destiny… This book, or any other book for that matter, cannot change a thing.
So, if you’re truly ready… If you have the capacity for an open mind and heart… “The Nurse in the Delivery Room Slapped Me… Once” is packed with life affirming stories and perspectives to help you begin to perceive things in a more productive and beneficial manner. So - what do you say? Are you ready to experience the kind of potential that awaits you within the pages of this uniquely motivational and inspirational book? Are you ready to alter your perspective and, as a result, begin to unlock your very own amazing potential?
